Is eating green cardamom good for health ?

Green cardamom  is a spice made from the seeds of several plants in the genera Elettaria and Amomum in the family Zingiberaceae. Cardamom is known as the “Queen of Spices”. It is native to Southern India and also grown in Guatemala.It is a spice with an intense, slightly sweet flavour, unique taste, aromatic and fragrance. It is a common ingredient in Indian cooking. 

Green cardamom powder is used as a spice for traditional indian sweet dishes.It is also used for traditional flavouring in coffee and tea. Cardamom was suggested as an important  home remedy for digestion after heavy meals. 

It is also used in conventional Indian medicine.Green cardamom is largely used in South Asia to take care of infections in teeth and gums,  and also helps take care of throat troubles, congestion of the lungs and pulmonary tuberculosis, inflammation of eyelids. In Ayurvedic medicine cardamom is used to take care of disorders of the stomach and urinary system, asthma, bronchitis and heart tribulations.

Cardamom tea recipe for cold

INGREDIENTS

1 tea bag or green tea

2 numbers of cardamom

250 ml of water

1 teaspoon of sugar or honey (optional)

METHOD

Bring water to a boil in a saucepan on the stove.

Add crushed cardamom (crushed the cardamom using a mortar and pestle) reduce heat to medium flame for 10 minutes.

Strain it into a cup. Now soak the tea bag for two minutes.

You can also add sugar or honey(optional).

Enjoy your drink.
